About Melancholia Directed by Lars von Trier

Melancholia Dir. Lars von Trier ( Copenhagen,Denmark April 1959 )

Melancholia is an Ode about the extinction of planet earth and the repercussions of this fatal event on the human psychology,an essay I will say about the end of our race and existence possibly in the entire cosmos. But more important it is a call from the director to the present reality. In the confirmed event of an extinguish future why are we here? why to move forward? why to keep or to hold vain subjects or serious matters that will no longer mean anything when the end is a fact. The paradox of this master piece recalls on us the concepts of ancient cultures and their knowledge about the universe the planet and its complexity through Astronomy, Mathematics and Science but not only these subjects as a vital and usable languages to connect with time and space yet something very important that modernity in an unfortunate effort has brought along with evolution  "progress and its values". The oppression of the inner conscious in awareness with the rest of our surroundings, the trust in our connection with other humans and the other living creatures that coexist with us all over the planet. "Instinct" this beautiful achievement of biology is an almost shameful word to mention in a serious conversation nowadays, a person can be diagnose mentally ill or in a deep emotional crisis if decide to mention something about this precious tool that actually in a common language talks nothing less but about the accumulation of information in every individuo and as part of the conscious has being crucial to question our existence since the beginning of our days.
Irrefutable is that we humans have not changed much in thousands of years "that history repeats itself is not a wicked thing! it is because perhaps we have not change at all! we adapt but deep in our achievements we don't transform we only modify to survive as our species has done through history.
We discovered but We don't create. Yes technology has evolved, but yet just as another tool to survive but not to change the course of our existence, still this is almost impossible.
Melancholia is suggesting to us a poem about distressing ourselves from the past and the future, a heavy sober and honest portrayal of how primitive we are when Mother Earth or God is calling down to us.
Thanks Mr. Lars von Trier to proposed a better way to thing about our so advance "Modern Society".
